The Software Test Engineer works as part of the technical team and focuses on verifying that all requirements are met including specified functionality, quality and performance characteristics. The Software Test Engineer should have a working knowledge of engineering and test processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

Write and execute manual test scripts for new software features. Locate defects in software products through manual testing and log defects using defect-tracking system. Run automated test suites, interpreting results and logging defects. Retest defect fixes and communicate issues to developers where required. Develop understanding of complex business logic. Analyze product requirements and liaise with business analysts and developers in order to define test requirements. Highlight issues in software including incomplete requirements,code implementation errors and potential enhancements. Review software documentation including user and business guides. Set-up and maintenance of the test environment.

Skill Set

• Candidates must have good knowledge of computer systems development and operations.
• At least 2 – 4 years experience in working in a structured test environment on financial or business applications.
• Must have exposure to formal test techniques.
• It is desirable to have at least 1 year experience in the environment of C#,asp.net 2.0,Javascript and Stored procedures.
• Experience with the use of automated test tools is an advantage.
• Knowledge of the following technologies would be an advantage: - Client/Server Systems - Database Management Systems - Automated Testing tools - AppServers
• Candidates should have good empirical skills, be methodical, and have good organizational skills and good communications skills.
• Preference would be given to candidates who have ISEB/ISTQB certificate.
• The individual should have the ability to work on their own initiative while at the same time contributing and working within a team environment.
• The candidate should be highly motivated and be prepared to work to agreed deadlines and achieve set targets.

The Job is based in Pune but may require short-term travelling to client site based abroad.
